Shri Prakash Academy for Excellence
The vision of Guru Ji Shri Prakash Gossai Ji, was to somehow merge education with the rich concepts of spirituality! That’s just what the Shri Prakash Seva Foundation is embarking on. SPSF is now raising funds to build a school, a retreat center and nursery school/day care, where children from K-8th grade will not only learn the regular school syllabus of Science, Math, Phys. Ed, English etc., but embedded in the curriculum will be Advaita Vedanta, Yoga and the Art of Meditation.
Why is this important?
Whenever we turn the news on, all we seem to see is more and more violence based on differences and mental illness. The world has become more material-based where people, even the very young, are looking for happiness and gratification only outside of themselves in the world of ever-changing sense objects.
At the Shri Prakash Scholastic Academy for Excellence, not only will the children be taught a first-class education with the best teachers and counselors, but they will have access to classes on the following:
I. Advaita Vedanta - based on the Upanishads, which are texts of Eastern Philosophy, Advaita Vedanta is the Science of Self Discovery. The basic concept is that we as humans are more than the Physical Body and Mind, but we are something more. Children will be taught that they are of the nature of bliss and complete within. This will make them dynamic leaders who will not be affected by loss and defeat. The temporary world of objects can not affect them adversely, if they are complete within - they will enjoy true inner peace.
II. Yoga - Children we will be trained in Yoga, a series of stretches and breathing techniques that are beneficial to their mind’s ability to think with clarity.
III. Art of Meditation - the practice of witnessing the outer world and all of its stimuli from a silent space of inner peace and quietude.
The central concept is to introduce the children to these practices as young as nursery school so that by the time they are young adults, they will be able to think with clarity, be confident in themselves. In addition the vision is that our graduates will be equipped to find inner peace/happiness and mental stability to contribute positively to the world in the future. They will be taught to think and teach others how to think in the line of inner peace and Self completion.
Creating future leaders that are peaceful and can help the world with solutions that are coming from a space of all-inclusiveness, as they will be taught to see themselves in each other. This will help others kindle a light within that will allow them to be truly happy.
With a team of dedicated, genuine professionals that share this vision, we implore you all for your help to make this a reality!

Daycare and Nursery School
The Shri Prakash Daycare & Nursery School is located on the same property as the Elementary and Middle School. Its purpose is to provide child care services for not only the staff at the schools, but also for parents in the local community. Parents will have the comfort of knowing that their children will be cared for with the same principles of finding inner peace, that are used for the older children in our schools. Children from 6 weeks of age to 3 years old will be eligible to be enrolled in the Daycare program. The Nursery Program will be for the 4 and 5-year olds. This will provide for a natural smooth transition into Kindergarten in the Elementary School of the Shri Prakash Scholastic Academy for Excellence.
Retreat Center and Ashram
In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we often look for a place to go to that is different from home, school and work. What better place to go to than a place where you can enjoy the serenity of nature plus learn the timeless knowledge of Vedanta. Vedanta is the science of Self Discovery. Based on the Upanishads, the knowledge allows us to know that we are of the nature of peace and happiness. The Retreat center will allow visitors the option of staying over the weekend to unwind and discuss the various texts of Vedanta.
